Your Favorite Celebrities Share Spring Cleaning Tips + Giveaway!
It’s here! Our Official Spring Cleaning Week has officially begun!! To kick it off, we are starting with some wonderful Spring cleaning tips from your favorite celebrities. From Martha Stewart to Nicollette Sheridan, these tips are sure to help get you cleaning and organizing in no time!

Leah Remini – Actress“I learned this from the wardrobe guys on The King of Queens. Take a Polaroid of each of your pairs of shoes, then stick the photo to the outside of the shoebox that you store your shoes in. That way, you can stack all your boxes and still tell where each pair is. I keep my shoes color coordinated, too, and separated by the season. It’s worth the work.”

Martha Stewart – Domestic Goddess“A crisply made bed makes the whole room seem more orderly, which makes it less likely that you’ll let clothes and papers pile up around it. Tidiness begets tidiness.”

Nicollette Sheridan, Desperate Housewives“I actually am trying to be more eco-friendly about spring-cleaning this year. So I’m sticking with supplies that are nontoxic. I like Mrs. Meyer’s line of products because they’re biodegradable…and because they really smell great and make my whole house smell incredible.”

Jane Seymour – Actress “Anything that involves mud and dirt and water thrills the boys. So my best advice is: Never let people wear their shoes around the house. It’s the only surefire way to make certain dirt doesn’t get tracked indoors. We have piles of shoes on our front steps.”

Joy Behar – Co-host of The View“You don’t have to spend a fortune on scented water for your iron — just put a few drops of fragrance in your water-filled spray bottle. It’ll make your clothes smell fantastic.”

I just found your site on Facebook and I love it! I am Spring Cleaning next week so these tips will be great. One tried and true tip I’ve always used is using natural things around the house instead of buying lots of expensive cleaning supplies. I use vinegar to clean soap scum, mirrors, and even countertops. If I need to really scrub something, I will use baking powder. I also mix in a little lavender essential oil so the cleaning process is more relaxing.
Also, just a extra tip, don’t mix vinegar and baking soda together because they can neutralize each other. Pick one or the other depending on the job.
Music! Nothing keeps me going like putting on some of my favorite songs. Before I know it, I’ve cleaned and reorganized my entire closet!
My tip: throw out anything I haven’t used in the last year. It doesn’t matter what it is, it has to go. You can even sell those things on Ebay or Craigslist. You’ll make extra money and someone will get a great deal on something they can use.
To scrub tough grout, tile stains use some baking soda and lemon juice. THey will come right off and your house will smell good.

Yard Sales. Nothing makes me look forward to Spring cleaning like knowing I will be able to put everything I clean out into a yard sale and make some money.
My mom taught me a great way to clean windows when I was young and I’ve never forgotten it. The trick is to clean the outside of your windows horizontally and the inside vertically. Then, if you have streaks you’ll know which side to clean again.
To get the inside of your microwave clean from stuck-on food, put a microwave safe mug of water in the middle and turn it on for 5-7 mins. The steam from the water will loosen up the crud, and you can wipe down the inside easily afterwards. Just be careful removing the mug, it will be HOT. You can use it for tea!
