Weeds Season Three Goes Green!
If you’re a fan of the Showtime hit, Weeds, and you love to recycle, you’re going to be one happy camper this Monday morning! You see, Season Three of the show has just been released on DVD and it features completely green packaging.
The DVD trays are made of 100 percent recycled materials and can be recycled again. Additionally, the paper used for the DVD packaging is made from 100 percent recycled fibers and is recyclable and compostable. And, if you decide to recycle the DVD case you can easily pop the plastic trays out to separate it from the paper component, making it super easy to support the eco-friendly effort.
But, that’s not all. Lionsgate says that by using 100 percent recycled water bottles for the trays on the initial production run of Weeds Season Three , approximately 500,000 water bottles were prevented from ending up in the landfill. Isn’t that amazing?! And to top that all off they say that the recycled tray uses less than 10 percent of the energy to make one from virgin materials. Throw in all the references to hybrid cars in the show and you’ve got yourself one green Hollywood production! Nice work, Lionsgate!
