Jane Fonda’s Workout Redux

Anyone who missed out on Jane Fonda exercise mania the first time around (back in 1982…) is about to get a second chance.

You heard right, 72-year-old Fonda is planning a return to fitness (by our account, she never left!) with a series of exercise DVDs that will launch in 2011. This may or may not signal the resurgence of legwarmers!

The DVD series will be aimed at baby boomers who need exercise moves that are mindful of aging bodies. Fonda herself has had a hip replacement, knee surgery and has osteoarthritis and back problems.

”[My new DVD] will target an audience that has been left out: My age group and the boomers. I want to get to people who have stopped working out, or never did. I can’t wait,” she says.

Check out Fonda’s memories of her first video shoot for Jane Fonda’s Workout, which sold 17 million copies

“I have to laugh when I think of when I did the first ever…still the biggest selling video of all time. We had no budget, no hair stylist or makeup artists. We did it all ourselves. I wrote the script on a ski trip in Calgary on the floor of my hotel room.”

She’s living proof that fitness is ageless!

I agree- that would be amazing, especially if they put her old workouts back on tv. Btw, I am also hooked on Exercise TV workouts- it’s great to be able to choose your program depending on your mood!
