Green Fashionistas, Get Ready for Emma Watson’s Fair Trade Clothing Line
Emma Watson’s eco-friendly fashion collaboration with UK brand People Tree (which we reported on back in September)is now available in the UK- and it’s scheduled to become available Stateside any day now!
“I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices,” Emma told Coco Eco magazine.
Facts you need to know about the Love from Emma line:
- The collaboration was Emma’s idea! She saw a friend wearing an eco-friendly People Tree tee and contacted the company.
- During the four month design process, Emma learned some surprising facts about Fair Trade fashion and sustainable materials:
“It surprises me that, even today, only one percent of the cotton produced in the world is Fair Trade and organic,” Emma wrote.
- The line is marketed to teens and twenty-somethings, and it features tons of 100% organic cotton, featherweight designs.
