Deluxe Honeydrop: Sustained Energy And A Little Sweetness

I love preparing big pitchers of iced herbal tea in summer months: mint, chamomile, citrus or green tea with a little honey and a slice of lemon. Forget those super-sweet, syrupy beverages that are probably closer to soda than anything! Not refreshing.
Lately I’ve seen an unexpected wave of lightly sweetened beverages while shopping in my local natural foods store, and after trying them I’ve found none to be closer to my own home-brewed tea as Deluxe Honeydrop. I think I know why. Honeydrop is organic juice-flavored water, sweetened with a touch of real, organic honey (not the powdered version that is common in bottled beverages). The flavor in each of the Blueberries & Honey, Apples & Honey, Blood Oranges & Honey and Chamomile Tea & Honeyvarieties comes from juice, with a little extra sweetness from honey. Honeydrop beverages are also low in calories, only 80 per bottle.
Apart from the fact that water, a little juice and honeymakes for an incredibly refreshing combination, the honey in Deluxe Honeydrop is a wonderful source of sustained energy. Honey is burned as a complex carb: glucose for an instant burst and fructose for lasting energy, making it a friend to athletes. I’ve even tried drinking one before a long run- with great results! I also found out that fitness fanatic Hugh Jackman is a fan of Deluxe Honeydrop!
You can find these slightly-sweet organic beverages at Whole Foods and other natural food stores.
