3 Cool Tips for Hot Workouts
With the warm weather here, many of us are turning to the great outdoors for our daily workouts. It’s a great option to spice up our routines but remember to be careful to not overheat while you’re burning up the calories! Prevention Magazine gives us three cool tips for your hot workouts:
- Chill out first: Hop in a pool, take a cold shower, or soak your T-shirt in ice water before exercising. Studies show that doing so may help you work out 16% harder and go faster.
- Sip early and often: Fluids fuel your body’s natural AC – sweat! Drink 2 cups an hour before your workout and 3 swigs every 15 minutes to make sure you’re hydrated enough to keep cool.
- Dress light: Skip anything cotton in favor of lightweight wicking fabrics to increase airflow, which lowers body temperature.
Keeping these tips in mind will help you burn the fat while keeping your cool!
What are some other tips you use to make sure you don’t overheat while exercising outdoors in the summer?
