*Spring Cleaning Week Giveaway* Cleanse Your Body With Yoga

yoga-cleanse

While we’re spring cleaning, it’s an ideal time to offer our bodies some spiritual and mental balance through a cleansing yoga session. The Kundalini yoga practice (fans include Drew Barrymore and Edward Norton) is specifically intended to balance chakras and cleanse spiritual channels so that energy may once again flow freely.

How to achieve these cleansing effects? Mantras, meditations and breathing exercises relax the body, calm the mind and alleviate stress so that you can function in top form again. You’ll leave a Kundalini yoga session with a heightened awareness and alertness.

Ready for something more physical? Bikram yoga is practiced in a room heated to 105 degrees, resulting in intense sweating and toxin release for a powerful physical cleanse. Both forms of yoga make for a great workout!

To encourage your spiritual cleansing, Healthy Hollywood is giving away a fabulous Yogoco yoga bag to one lucky reader!

If you haven’t heard of Yogoco yet, you’ll want to check out the company’s chic, environmentally-friendly yoga bags (made from recycled t-shirt scraps!). Each bag has a large, ventilated section perfect for a mat up to 26 inches wide, a separate compartment for towel or water bottle and an interior pocket for your tiny essentials. Add that to a cute design and you can see why it’s inspired raves from everyone!

Enter to win a Yogoco bag in the red and black Buddha’s Garden print (shown above) by telling us your favorite way to de-stress, in the comment section of this post. The reader who leaves the best comment by Saturday, April 26 will win the bag!

I start by putting on some great music, and then i start cleaning my house. I then take a shower, and head off to the salon for a day of pampering. I finish with some me time, reading nice passages and reflect on them

my best way to destress is to fill up the tub with bubbles and light some candles and play some soft music. No matter what taking a bath in that kind of environment always destresses me no matter what! I feel like i’m in my own spa and resort :)

BTW, my favorite way to destress is simply exercising. Nothing relieves your mind from the daily grind like going to the gym or just running and sweating. Get that blood pumping and then a nice hot shower after.

ashley – you can’t beat a nice bath with candles and soft music… ahhh… :)

yoga poga – good point about exercising. That and a hot shower will do it everytime!

My FAV way to destress is to sit on the floor in a comfty position where my body is in complete alignment, have a good glass of hot tea, and watch scrubs. This is mostly because I believe the perfect way to change you attitude it to LAUGH, not a fake laugh or a smurk but a full blown laugh attack…it is also known to burn calories which there for increases endorphens and makes you happy :) double plus

    Thank you for this!!

Honestly I de-stress by working out/going to the gym. Sometimes it’s the only time I get to myself during the day. And especially if I’m stressed or upset about something, hopping on the elliptical and working up a good sweat is not only re-energizing but really allows me to evaluate my feelings and brainstorm solutions – all while getting my heart rate up!! To me, that’s de-stressing!

What a beautiful bag! Yoga is a staple in my life and it really has changed my body so much. I’ve been practicing for over a year now. I also use the sauna to destress. I’m lucky that my gym has one and I head there after a long workout. It’s so relaxing.

  9. sueinthecity says:

I destress with a hot cup of tea and some quiet time every day after work. It’s before the kids and hubby get home so I have a little time for me each day.

I destress with a hot cup of tea and some quiet time each day after work. It’s before the kids and hubby get home so it’s just a little time out for me each day.

  11. I was the lucky winner of this bag and I still get compliments on it every time I head to my Bikram studio! Thanks again! :)
