Katherine Heigl Adopts!
The family of Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley just got a whole lot bigger - with their adoption of a 10-month old Korean girl with special needs. Her name? Nancy Leigh, after Katherine’s mother, Nancy, and sister, Margaret Leigh.
“It is a little girl and she’ll be 10 months at the end this month. She was actually born the day before me in November, which I thought was really serendipitous and just kind of like a sign. I realized just recently that I basically forfeited my birthday for the rest of my life,” Katherine said, according to people.com.
Turns out that the Heigls are no stranger to adoptions. Katherine’s own sister was adopted from Korea, and the family runs a canine shelter and adoption center called Heigl’s Hounds of Hope, dedicated to the memory of Katherine’s brother Jason Debus Heigl.
