Elizabeth Berkley To Star In MTV Show That Helps Teen Girls With Self Esteem and Body Issues
Yes, the same Elizabeth Berkley from Saved By the Bell and Showgirls is working on a brand new TV show! She’s set to join MTV in developing a reality show that focuses on her self-esteem workshops titled, “Ask Elizabeth”. The actress has been conducting “Ask Elizabeth” workshops around the country for the past 2 and 1/2 years to teach girls to love themselves and the body they’re in. On her official website, Ask-Elizabeth.com, she writes,
“Dear girls, you are here in this world to shine your light and share your special gifts that make you who you are. I wanted to create a safe place for you to feel heard, to feel seen, and to get the help you need to feel your best! You are not alone… We are in this life together! There are moments in life when we feel like we are losing our way, and Ask Elizabeth is here to help you remember!!!”
Amy Bailey, Vice President of Development at MTV, said Berkley approached them with the idea.
“She does these workshops around the country with teen girls and gets them to really open up about their issues, like self-esteem and body issues. We had been looking for a program that tackled the same issues, so it seemed like a perfect match.”
MTV says they are looking to shoot the pilot for the show, tentatively titled “Ask Elizabeth“, this fall.
I really love this idea of working with teen girls to promote self-esteem. It’s encouraging, empowering, and would certainly be refreshing. It’s just what we need – especially on a network like MTV. I will be crossing my fingers that we see this show on air soon!

This is such an awesome idea and I really hope it takes off with the teens as they are so at risk of a host of emotional problems, many linked to their weight, being the new kid on the block, etc…Thanks for sharing, I think I’ll attempt to find in my DVR and set a reminder.
