Supermodels, Makeup-Free

ccrawford

Yesterday we had extreme airbrushing, today we’re going makeup-free.

I had to share Harper’s Bazaar’s new story “Supernatural: Supermodels Without Makeup,” which gives us Claudia, Cindy and other famous faces, free of the makeup illusion. One tiny detail that cheapens the feature is that  the photos were ‘minimally retouched,’ meaning they’re still not quite capturing reality. But it’s refreshing to see the faces of women we associate with glamour and high fashion looking a little more down-to-earth. In their own, uniquely-supermodel way.

These gorgeous ladies also share some priceless health and beauty tips. Kristen McMenamy swears by the beautifying properties of hot yoga. “It’s amazing for your complexion. You sweat for an hour and a half. Afterward, I shower and put on jojoba and sesame oils while my skin is damp,” she says.

And Claudia Schiffer chooses true beauty foods. “What I eat affects my skin,” says Claudia. “Anything that’s heavy, like dairy or sweets, breaks out my complexion, and it doesn’t look as fresh. When I stopped eating dairy, my skin looked nicer. Fresh carrot or apple juice and water with lemon and ginger help give my skin a healthy look.”

Check out the feature for more tips- and a new view of your favorite faces.

Well this is depressing – they are still gorgeous! Especially Cindy… :-)
