Mandy Moore’s Healthy Resolutions for 2010

In two weeks we’ll be counting down the minutes til midnight and making resolutions for the coming year. Mandy Moore, like many of us, has big goals for 2010. Mandy got a headstart with her New Year’s celebration this year by talking to Shape magazine about her resolutions.
#1. Cook meals with produce from her local farmers’ market.
“I’m going through a phase where I’m kind of bored with food. I’m just tired of relying on takeout and restaurants… I love the idea of getting up early on Sundays and walking to the market to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables. It’s a good way to start my day, and it makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something before other people are even awake.”
#2. Balance her workouts and use her home gym.
“After Pilates I should do some cardio, and after hiking, I need to do some resistance training…I have all the equipment in my house, and it’s just collecting dust.So after I get home from Pilates, I’m going to jump on my mini trampoline for 15 minutes. And after a hike, I’ll do some weight lifting or get down on my mat and do a set or two of crunches.”
#3. Learn to play the guitar and play in front of others.
”I can plunk out enough chords to write a song, but I’m completely afraid to play guitar in front of other people. It’s a fear of failure, I guess…I’ve started and stopped lessons a million times, but I’m less likely to cancel or make other plans if I’ve made the commitment and am paying someone.”
We love Mandy’s goals for the year- each one supports her health and happiness in a positive way! What are your healthy resolutions for 2010?
