Lindsay Price: Her Fitness Goals, Her Most Hated Exercise and What She Eats On-Set

Lindsay Price, formerly of Lipstick Jungle and now starring in the series Eastwick, looks fresh and energetic on the cover of this month’s Fitness magazine. Turns out that Lindsay takes fitness very seriously- it’s one key to a successful acting career, she reasons. Read on to hear her sound off on exercise habits, diet and life as an actress.
She’s been known to wake up at 4:30am for workouts:
“I’m not the kind of girl who picks up a couple of dumbbells and lightly jogs. I push myself constantly — and I have the sweat stains to prove it!..I make a nonnegotiable deal with myself every week that I’ll get up four out of five days to hit the gym. I don’t have a 20-year-old’s metabolism anymore, so I know I need to put in the work if I want to continue to do what I love, which is act. If that’s not motivation, I don’t know what is.“
She has a lofty fitness goal:
“To run a marathon. I trained three years ago for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in San Diego. I was up to 23 miles, but I injured myself before the race. It’s heartbreaking to put in that amount of time on something and not be able to complete it.”
Her most hated exercise?
“The worst has to be biceps work — I feel like I’m going to throw up every time I do it. I might forget to breathe, or maybe the burn just makes me woozy, but it never fails. My trainer backs up just in case and jokes, ‘Do I need to get the barf bag?’”
So what does she crave?
“A huge wheel of Camembert cheese with fresh-baked bread and a glass of wine. I used to be a big-time cupcake girl, but Lipstick Jungle killed the cupcake for me. Every time my character was sad — which was often — she ate cupcakes.”
And what’s her on-set diet?
“I bring almonds or apples to munch on. The only thing that’s really tough to turn down is fresh-baked cookies. If I see them, I run the other way.”
