How Tyra ‘Got Her Shape In Shape’

How did Tyra Banks lose 30 pounds? It wasn’t a ‘diet’ that got her to her current size- the credit goes to a complete lifestyle change.

“I do not believe in diets. I have been on diets in the past, and they are a bunch of bologna,” Tyra told the audience of The Tyra Show. ”This is a lifestyle change. It’s not about being skinny. It’s about getting in the best shape that you can be.

Tyra worked with nutritionist Heather Bauerto revamp her routine, which included lots of exercise (Tyra worked out on the elliptical machine during episodes of ‘Sex and the City,’ among other activities) and a food journal. In the process, she also relieved herself of ongoing stomach pain. She still indulges- Haagen Daaz and BBQ ribs are her treats.

Tyra got flack for weight gain back in 2007, and she responded by gracing the cover of People magazine and commenting  ’Kiss my fat ass.’ Two years later, she has this to say:

“I feel good about my curves and my imperfections – my booty, my boobs, my thighs – I embrace it all. Now I really can say . . . kiss my fat – and still fat – ass.”
