How Christina Aguilera Got Her Body Back After Baby
Christina Aguilera has revealed to US Weekly how she got her amazing body back just 4 months after the birth of baby, Max. Christina gained 40 pounds while pregnant but says she “embraced” the change in her body because she “wanted what was best for her baby”. So how did she slim down so quickly? Christina says it was “more mental than anything: food is comforting”. She also says that she doesn’t deprive herself of anything but that she limits the bad things that she likes.
Diet
Six days a week, Christina eats a diet full of protein, veggies and whole grains. On the seventh day, she splurges on her favorite foods like chili cheese fries. Here’s what a typical day’s menu looks like for her:
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, a whole-wheat English muffin with PB&J
Snack: Fruit
Lunch: Tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread
Snack: Cheddar or string cheese
Dinner: Chicken or fish with a large salad
Workout
Christina headed back to the gym six weeks after giving birth and says she was “itching for it”. Even though she started out slowly, she quickly ramped up and now she trains 5 days a week for 90 minutes with trainer Tee Sorge. Here’s a look at their routine:
Cardio: 40 minutes of intervals on either the treadmill or elliptical
Toning: 40 minutes of strength training including bicep curls, chest presses, pushups, and lunges finishing with 300 different ab exercises such as crunches
Stretching: 10 minutes
Whew! I got tired just typing that! Just a quick mention, Christina is also breast feeding which has no doubt helped a bit with her weight loss. Of course, that’s not to take anything away from the hard work she’s put into looking the way she does now. There’s no denying that she’s worked extra hard to get it!
