Everyone’s favorite health expert, Dr. Mehmet Oz, is armed with tips that will help us to stay slim (and satisfied) during the holiday season.

“Take a moment once you’re at the event to look around and see what your options are before diving into the first thing you see.”
“Take steps to stop from making food your focus. Find a place to sit or talk that’s not right next to the buffet line. Also, try to be present in conversation and really listen to others.”
“Always have [only] one hand free — have a drink in your hand, like a club soda with a lime. This can help you avoid feeling empty-handed and even make it more difficult to reach for food, since you’ve already got one hand tied up.”
