Checking In With Oprah and Her 21 Day Detox

It’s week two of Oprah’s 21-Day Detox so we thought we would check in and see how she’s doing.  It looks like so far, so good!  The end of the first week got a little tough when Oprah went to Las Vegas where she was interviewing Tom Cruise and seeing Tina Turner and Cher perform.  But, she was able to be in Vegas for an entire weekend without one drop of alcohol.  Oprah said,

“In Vegas without a drop of wine or champagne—this is a first for me”

She has been eating meals such as gluten- and wheat-free waffles, a smoothie, lentils and sweet potato salad, fake tuna sandwich on rice bread, a salad with multi vegetables, and quinoa salad and pasta with soy chicken.  Sound yummy?  Doesn’t she miss any of her usual foods or have any cravings?  According to her,

“I’ve had no cravings or food issues—I’m in harmony with life. The rest of the group is doing better, no headaches this week from caffeine or sugar withdrawal.”

Just like all of us, it seems like she’s faced with daily temptations like when Donald Trump sends her a dozen key lime pies from Mar-a-Lago.  What exactly does one do with 12 pies while you’re on a cleanse?  According to Oprah, you

“share it with the audience”.

It’s definitely impressive.  I’m curious to see what happens at the end of her detox and whether she’ll implement some of the healthy changes for life. Are any of you doing a detox or cleanse with Oprah?  If so, what has been your observations?  Are you sticking to it? Does it just not suit you?  I would love to hear your comments!
