American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, pledged his support for the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and its campaign, Universal Declaration for Animal Welfare, to help get international recognition for the charity’s efforts to stop animal suffering and cruelty.

Twilight’s Kellan Lutz is doing just that by partnering with PETA for their new campaign, “Adopt, Don’t Buy”. The ad (pictured above) shows Kellan hugging his rescued mixed-breed dog Kola and reads, “Buying Animals Is Killing Animals. Save a Homeless Dog or Cat-Always Adopt and Never Buy.”
Pete Wentz has teamed up with the United Nations to raise awareness about the importance of providing safe drinking water to children around the globe. The rockstar dad (to little Bronx) and husband (to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) has been named the national spokesperson for the 2010 UNICEF Tap Project, a campaign which encourages people to donate as little as $1 for tap water at restaurants across the U.S. during World Water Week.
